Over the years, Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) has acquired several companies with expertise ranging from manufacturing to combustion to solar panels. These companies, known as "Endorsed Brands," continue to operate independently but with direct support from KES. As KES expanded, they needed a strategy to link these brands while allowing them to maintain their individual identities for their customer base. Over the past year, we collaborated with the KES Marketing team to develop brand strategies that foster a connection between the companies while ensuring each brand remains distinct and in the spotlight.

The objective of this product launch video was to showcase the innovation and performance of Excalibur's latest crossbow, highlighting the double rail and trigger system. Our job was to create a dynamic and visually engaging piece that captures the excitement of the product while emphasizing its reliability in real-world hunting scenarios.

Who Tanner is…
Outside of the Office
Tanner is an obsessive creative with a knack for learning new crafts and trades. Growing up in a small-town, working-class family, he was surrounded by farmers, carpenters, musicians, and writers, which fueled his multidisciplinary interests. His enthusiasm for various creative activities—from woodworking to welding, painting, printmaking, photography, and 3D modeling—has shown him how different skills can act as “cross-pollinators,” enriching his approach to projects. In his free time, you’ll likely find Tanner tinkering in his workshop or preparing new works for an upcoming art show.

What started out as a joke at a family dinner would later become a reality when we found ourselves in the middle of a pandemic with nowhere to go and some extra time on our hands. On July 4th, 2020, we decided to start cleaning up an old corn crib on my in-law’s farm and kick off a long process of making it another residence on the place. The project would take two and half years from demolition to move-in day and was something we couldn’t have ever completed without keeping our noses to the grindstone.

These photographs are work that I have been developing personally. As a creative person, I have had the honor of meeting other fellow creatives. Within this connection, I am ever-intrigued with others’ creative processes. As a portrait photographer, I am able to capture those processes and provide the artists with images that document their craft for their audiences and families.
